DGP Visits Kishtwar, Interacts With Police, Public and students | KNO

KISHTWAR , NOV 15 (KNO) : Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir Dr SP Vaid today visited district Kishtwar. He interacted in detail with the Police officers and Jawans, public and the meritorious students of the district.The DGP was accompanied by Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Dr SD Singh. The DGP and IGP flew by air force copter and were received at defense helipad Kishtwar by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary. The DGP visited Quarter Guard and took the general salute in District Police Lines. He ineracted in detail with the officers and Jawans in the police darbar in District Police Lines Kishtwar. The District Superintendent of Police Abrar Chowdhary welcomed the DGP and IGP and read out the achievements of police especially on the drugs, social media and police-public participation fronts. He briefed the officers of the achievements of the district police in the last one year. The various officers and Jawans put forth their problems before the DGP who issued necessary instructions and resolved much of the problems on the spot and took note of many problems to be processed at PHQ level. The DGP in his address made mention of a number of police welfare oriented schemes taken up with the govt of Jammu and Kashmir and govt of India. He said that the ex-gratia relief and retirement gifts are being enhanced.

 

The selection grade quota is also increased which has opened up the opportunities of promotions of lower sub-ordinates. The DGP further said that the State Police Service caderisation issue and pay anomaly issues of sub-ordinates have also been resolved.The police darbar among others was attended by Additional SP Parbeet Singh, Dy SP Headquarter Nihar Ranjan, Dy SP DAR Manoj Kumar, SDPO Atholi Updesh Kumar, Dy SP IRP Mujahid Ahmed, Dy SP Probationer Mohd Rafee Rather, SHO Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jeelani, SHO Chatroo Inspector Haji Bashir Choudhary, SHO Marwah Inspector Farooq Khateeb and Jawans and women officials.After police darbar the DGP and IGP interacted with public in District Police Office Kishtwar. People from different walks of life including senior citizens council, beopar mandal, educationists, wakaf board and others attended the meeting. The SSP Kishtwar read out the public demands. People demanded the installation of CCTV cameras in the town, better police public co-operation, anti-drug action and special police recruitment in rural areas. The DGP gave a patient hearing to the public and assured to take up their demands at appropriate levels. He instructed the police officers to take stern action in case of drug abuse and maintain cordial relations with public.The DGP also interacted with a galaxy of meritorious students of High School and Higher Secondary School level of the district. He distributed the sports items among these students and emphasised upon the students to leave no stone unturned in their studies to achieve their goals. He said that all of them can become AJP Abdul Kalams provided they set their goals high and work hard.The DGP in the end interacted with the civil, military and para-military administration and police officers on a high tea in the Tourist Receotion Center Kishtwar premises. Present among others in the interaction were Dy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana, Commander 9 Sector Rohan Anand, Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary, Commanding Officer 26 RR Vijyant Kumar, Commanding Officer 11 RR Neeraj Pant, Commanding Officer 17 RR Harrikrishnan, GM NHPC Yoginder Kotha, Commanding Officer 52 CRPF PK Choudhary, ARTO Kishtwar Abhay Sharma and other civil, police and military officers (KNO)
